About
Herrmutt Lobby
Founded in 2003, Herrmutt Lobby is a collective of musicians, handymen and programmers. Since 1997, they have had numerous releases on various labels [DUB, Studio !K7, Vlek, Eat Concrete, Thin Consolation, Catune]. Their ever-changing musical universe grows from their encounters with musicians from very diverse horizons like recently Stéphane Mercier, belgian jazzman and UK’s hip-hop sensation Lord Rao.
Their primary objective is to develop both hardware and software aimed at live performance. Their devices are intended for direct interpretation, producing movement-driven music in real time. Their know-how and experience in that matter had been largely acclaimed by the musical community. Their « Beatfader » software was recommended by no one else than the Ableton Sound Designer Team and the "Sound & Recording" magazine in Japan.
In 2013, they released an iPad MIDI controller builder called “Beatsurfing” . It was featured several weeks in a row on the App store and was reviewed by TheNextWeb, XLR8R, VICE / Motherboard, FASTCO.
They are currently developing an IOS musical platform called “Playground“ which will allow music lovers to interpret the music of reknown musicians of the global electronic music scene through an evolutive and playful interactive multitouch interface. The aim of that innovative platform is to share the pleasure of real-time musical expression with as many people as possible.
