About
Alain Bellet
Alain Bellet is Professor at ECAL/University of art and design Lausanne. He is heading since 6 years the Media & Interaction Design unit (M&ID). His teaching approach is mainly based on experimentation with students dealing within different contexts in the so-called digital creation field. Those contexts are going from data visualisation to tangible interfaces for digital devices. Holding a degree in Graphic Design he moved ten years ago, shortly after graduating, to screen based medias by developing websites and digital presences for different actors in the cultural field. He is now sharing his time between Lausanne and Zurich where he lives and works in his own practice, developing online projects and more recently apps. The last in date is an experimental digital catalogue on the form of an iPad app developed for the french designers duo, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. His interests are in the crossing of visual communication and the use of new technologies.
